ASC Audits in Weeks 39, 40 and 50

The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) is an international, non-profit organisation that promotes more environmentally sustainable and socially responsible aquaculture. The ASC certification assures that fish farming operations comply with strict environmental and social responsibility requirements.

The green ASC label is a symbol of transparency and accountability. ASC certified products can be traced throughout the entire supply chain. When consumers see the ASC label, they can be confident that they are making a responsible choice. To demonstrate transparency throughout the entire supply chain, Nordic Trout is planning ASC audits at its Åland farming sites (Nåtö, Vårdö, Ängösund, Stenkil/Klåvskär/Hastersboda and Bråttö/Rödskär/Dömmanskär) during Week 39, and at its Finnish farming sites (Joutsa, Gulskär, Svinö, Storströmmen, Alörarna and Wattkast) during Week 40. The audit process will then continue at the Swedish farming sites (Foxen, Torsby, Stöpafors, Glava, Silen, Björka and Insjön) during Week 50.

The draft audit report is expected to be available no later than 42 days after completion of the audit and will be open for stakeholder consultation for a period of 21 days.

The final audit report is expected to be available no later than 28 days after the close of the stakeholder consultation period.
